Hello All;

Does any one know if the Cochran EMC-16 can download dive data (graphs, etc) to a desktop like most of dive computers do?.....any good or bad feed back about this computer?

Thanks;

It will download. I think it tells you everything but what you saw while diving. Not complaining.
I just got mine but so far I am happy. So far the only thing that I don't care for is the fact that the log is in a few screens.

thank you guys for the feed back.

I see that they also make an AI, the Gemini but the transmiter lookes huges....what is the adventage of having the transmiter do the calculations and transmit the info to the wrist unit that is already setup to do this work....

And for you guys that have a Gemini, how do you secure it in the tank?

Well, I don't know about "advantage" but you have a choice of the Monitor Wrist Unit or the Intelligent Wrist Unit... Yes, the transmitter/Tank Unit is huge. :D

From Cochran Gemini Feature Selection Guide:

http://www.divecochran.com/computers/Gemini/feature_selection_guide.html

"What is the difference between the Monitor Wrist Unit and the Intelligent Wrist Unit?

The Monitor Wrist Unit is exactly what the name implies, it merely displays (Monitors) the data that is transmitted from the Tank Unit. It equates to the monitor on your P.C., the processor does all the work, and the monitor displays the data.

The Intelligent Wrist Unit, has the capability of becoming an autonomous dive computer, if during the dive the Tank Unit stops transmitting. If the Intelligent Wrist Unit looses communications with the Tank Unit for 60 seconds, it switches to the "Independent" mode. Without interruption, and in a seamless manner, the Wrist Unit will take over all the nitrogen and oxygen calculations. It will supply the diver with Dive Time, NDC or Deco times, depth, ascent rate, and maximum depth. Essentially all the data the unit was being supplied by the Tank Unit except cylinder pressure."

I used to have one... It's not really designed to be secured to a tank. You can either clip the Tank Unit (transmitter) to the inflator LP hose or you can get the Tank Unit with the optional 36" HP cable so you can put it in your BC pocket.
