Cobra Backlight

I have a new Cobra which has not been in the water yet. I found in the manual, and on the computer menu tree, where to turn the backlight on and off and the timer. What I cannot find out is what makes it come on other than a refference to the fact that if it is turned off it will not come on in the event of an alarm.

How do you turn it on to take a reading? Can anyone help?

I believe it's the lower right, and it will come on.

in the instructions. When enabled, holding the botton down for a couple seconds will make it come on.

Thanks for the help NetDoc and scubatexastony. I was not holding it down for long enough, scared of initiating the self destruct sequence (or just to impatience).
