The weather will be equally good (or bad) at them both so that is not a factor. If you stay at the Reef Resort, given your diving experience, make sure you dive with Ocean Frontiers. See the previous thread for other similarities and differences.

Is July/August a good time in general to do Reef Resort or should I wait a few months?

July and August is when the silversides populate the swimthroughs on the East End (sites that Ocean Frontiers go to for the second morning dive typically). It is spectacular. Here is a sample of the kind of scene that you will see.

The whole set from August 2010 can be found here: 2010 grand cayman - a set on Flickr

You can see that there are lots of photos of the silversides in this set. Just something to consider.

Hi,

Here are a couple of differences between the two:
Reef Resort has a decent beach, Cobalt Coast not so much.
CC offers very good shore diving, RR not so much.
RR has AI packages that include alcohol, CC not so much.
CC has a top-notch on-site dive operation, RR not so much.
RR is a long drive to town, CC not so much.

Neither one is a bad choice by any means.

Have fun!!!
