There are analyzers for scuba cylinders, HVAC installers, automotive technicians, etc. There are also all sorts of prices for these items. It seems as though the ones for "diving" are more expensive than other.

What would be a practical CO analyzer that does not cost as much as the $300 diving one?

There are a couple of recent threads on this topic, just search a bit. Haven't heard of an econo-model dual analyzer.

Those HVAC CO monitors have a range of anywhere from 0 to 1000 ppp to 5000 ppm CO and you are interested in 0 to 10 ppm concentrations for diving.

The Analox CO EII is a very nice unit recently introduced to the market which is diver specific, but the RaeSystems ToxiRae 3 can also be used if you purchase lp hose flow restrictor.

Have a look at this recent thread.
