That is one more typical example for the CMAS federations. Every national federation does whatever it wants. And even among themselves they are discordant.:cussing:

PADI DM as well as CMAS 3* are certified as Dive Leader according DIN EN 14153-3 and ISO 24801-3 and they are equivalent in nearly every equivalency list you will find, i.e.
Tauchschein

But even this DIN is misleading in that its for the teaching of recreational SCUBA by commercial organisations, e.g PADI Etc. Not the recreational standard of the diver by national federations, e.g SAA for the UK.

CMAS was a all about equivalence before they started teaching SCUBA themselves, now there pretty meaningless.

To the OP, I think you will find the ASE people will require someone with this equivalence.

There do seem to be some mixed messages out there, thanks everyone for your advice!

Edward - I am working towards my Advanced with the Glasgow Uni club, however my Advanced European Scientific Diver has taken precedence recently. Hopefully BAS will be happy with the qualifications I already have!

We had a number of your fellow Uni members at this month's training session on L Fyne.

PM me on what you've got left to do.
