Cheers guys. Steve, you are right, I'd made the assumption the mouthpiece worked the same. I was just curious as I've never looked into a SCR or CCR.

Thanks again guys, no more must I lay awake at night wondering! :)

Adam, you're always welcome to come out to Silent Days where we run a day-long orientation for CCRs including a 30 - 40 minute dive... even if you just wanna drop by and poke around for a few minutes to see what color the beast's eyes are... so the speak.

Take care and dive safe.

WHOOPS... you're in the UK... well in that case, drop me an email or pm with your email address and I point you towards a couple of "muckers" who can do you the same favor (favour) over there!

Here's a rather simplified drawing that kind of explains how a CCR unit work - just in case you have any more sleepless nights! :)

My Kiss Gem, if you go off the loop (close the mouthpiece), to go back on the loop, you exhale the water out of the mouthpiece, then open the valve again.

Easy Breezy. Designed to carry some water in the scrubber, and some water collects in the rh Counter Lung.

I was going to say "detol" ............
