I know this is going to make me sound retarded but is there a way of cleaning your keyboard besides hosing it down in the shower?

oki coz i was actually thinking of using my reg and pluging the dust out.... so hosing is still the best huh.....any recommendations for hoses mark?

Turning it upside-down and banging it on the desk does wonders for cleaning those hard-to-reach places. It can be scary what falls out.

actually ling, go to office depot or the like and you can buy little cans of compressed air with a special nozzle, especially designed for cleaning electronincs, you usuall get a little brush with them.

I really dont recommend showering with you keyboard.

You'll never discover the joy of showering with yr keyboard if you never tried it mark.I'd also recommend you to bring the cpu in too.

I hear that showering the keyboard is now last resort (in cases of spilled soda), as the water is almost impossible to get out of the clear plastic membranes under the keys. Compressed air is good (the ones in a can from Staples or whereever) or like posted earlier, dropping a couple of bucks for a new one.

Compressed air to blow the stuff that ends up in the keyboard out, babywipes for the keys to clean them back to nearly their natural color instead of that disgusting black with white dots I so often see.

Before you begin the following procedures, ensure you either take a digital picture of your keyboard's layout, or have another keyboard with an identical layout handy.

Take a small screwdriver, get it under a key and pull up a little to pop the key off. Do this for all they keys except the spacebar (it's a pain to get back on). After you've taken them all off, simply tilt the keyboard upside down and watch all the little (or not so little) crumbs fall out. Then put all the keys back on in the right spot.

It works wonders for your keyboard if you have a few minutes to do this.
