Everything gets a soak after every dive/weekend trip. This includes a fresh water flush of the bladder.
About once a month, or maybe every-other month, everything gets a 24 hour soak, water change, and another 24 hour soak.
The BC gets an additional soak (inside and out) in McNett's BC cleaner for that lemon fresh scent.

some of the techniques described to clean the inside of a BC sound a lot more difficult than just unscrewing the rear dump valve and filling it that way. That's what I've done after every dive trip and it's worked so far--no problems with my BC! *knocking on wood*

I rinse my gear in fresh water after every dive while on a trip, then once I get home, my gear (including the BC with the rear dump taken off) goes in the tub with a sink-the-stink and salt water dissolver combination. Soak overnight then thoroughly rinse everything in more fresh water. Then I wash my BC separately in BC Life to condition it and stick the rear dump hole under the faucet to fill it, slosh, dump, repeat until I'm satisfied it's clean. Maybe some BC's don't allow the dump valve to be removed, but this technique works great for me! :)
