jim - yep, you hit on it!

i wash mine in the (front-loader) washing machine with some wetsuit wash and walmart brand listerine. my booties sometimes used to get really funky, and then i'd add mirazyme or sink the stink, but that was before i used the listerine regularly.

I was about to specify using a horizontal drum (front load) washing machine too, it's a lot easier on the material than an agitator (which can sometimes make mischief).
Add a gallon of white vinegar to the wash water for a seriously stinky suit.
Be sure not to dry in direct sunlight, the UV degrades both the rubber & nylon fabric.

I'm a believer in Mirazyme. Get it from Scuba Toys or any other good dive shop. I can put 2-3 wetsuits, 2 BC's , hoods, vests, booties, etc. in the bathtub and add about 1 oz. of the stuff. Let it soak for a few hours, then rinse.

To wash the salt out of my suit I take it diving in freshwater. :D If I can let it dry, it doesn't stink. I have had to pack it damp, and I used one of the recommendations above to destink it. I dive semi-dry, so peeing in it isn't a great option as it won't flush out of the suit, so I avoid that aroma entirely. :D

I add Downy (April Fresh fragrance) to the 1st tub of water and then rinse with clean water.

Old thread but I am wondering if other enzyme odor killers like sprays used for pet stains work the same as sink the stink. Anyone try this?

Best thing ever - green bin spray.

1L Bio Green Deodorizer

I generally spray my wetsuit after every dive in the St Lawrence. Works on all the organic stuff, and much more cost efficient than the "scuba specific" stuff I have seen.
