I have had surgery 4 weeks ago and am slowly mending. Told to look on the medical forum as to when I could look to dive again . Can't find any threads. Anyone any idea .

Hi Karen,

The healing time of a repaired fracture of the clavicle depends upon the type of fracture, the section of the collarbone involved, patient age, health & fitness, possible post-surgical complications, and other factors. In general, the patient can safely return to full physical activity about 12 weeks post-surgery.

You will have to discuss this with your orthopedic surgeon, making sure that s/he understands the amount of weight you are going to be dealing with, especially the carrying & donning/doffing of heavy gear, and the positioning of BC straps across the shoulder area.
