Augusta (and others) divers, we are doing our annual pollen dives this weekend. Come join us and clean out those pollenated sinuses. You don't want a pine tree growing up there do you??? :11:

Saturday 9am at the Lake. E. Dam (two tanks) - dive one at 9, dive two about 10:45 -11:00.
Sunday - Lake at 1pm (maybe two?) - e-mail if you plan to come Sunday as we may change sites if the river is clear...
Surface water last week was 55 and 52 at depth. It has been a warm week and we should see temps a degree or two warmer this week. 85 air temps both days will be nice!

What unusual conditions on today's dive. We have had 70 and 80 degree air temps all week, but the lake actually was actually a degree or two colder (54 at surface and 51 at depth). Vis was also way down (6'). Still we had an enjoyable morning dive 90' for 1:06. Lots of small fish on the ski boat. We are going to try our luck in the river tomorrow.

Has the lake started to turn early? 6' is pretty low for this time of year.

Probably so, though a little early. Historically, the turn-over is a mid-April thing. Last year we had a good 12-15' this time of year. However, in 2005 vis dropped from 15' to 2-3 down to 45' and 4-6' below that when the water temp hit 54 degrees on 4/2/05. It is a little early this year. Could be the combination of the heavy rain we had a few weeks ago (the lake rose almost 3'), the high winds last weekend that stirred up stuff, and an early turnover. Maybe Al Gore is right about that global warming thing. I could have ocean front property in 10 years:D, of course the summer temps might be 135 degrees.

How was the big "O"? (note major envy in my voice!!!)
