My buddy dives a Citizen Hyperaqualand, and I love the watch except for the terrible backlight it has. I think for almost $300 they could do much better. At least I can brag to my buddy that my $20 timex has a better light than his. Does Citizen have any plans to put some kind of indiglo in their watches?

I hope so. It is the one detractor in the Hyper Aqualand. It is a miserable excuse for a light - may as well not be there.

You are EXACTLY right! I love my CHA but that light barely go across the dial. My $15 Timex has an Indiglo™ light that will light the ceiling in my bedroom at night!

Alot of us CHA users have written and requested the improvement but only time will tell if they listen to their customers.

I've heard that the Indiglo type lighting actually uses less battery juice then the older style lights, makes you wonder why any watch makers would use anything else. Especially Citizen with their Hyper Aqualand that already use's alot of juice as it is.

FYI folks,

There is a Seiko and Citizen watch forum at:

http://www.network54.com/Hide/Forum/78440

A rep from Citizen Watches of America (Citizen is a Japanese company, but the rep is for the North American geo only) posts there occasionally. Anyway FWIW, you can probably post about the backlight problem there and get a response back from Citizen.

Have one of those myself and i didn't even know it had a light, I did, but you surely can't tell it's there. You would think with the amount of money paid for that clock it would have a better light system.
