Channel Islands Dive Adventures has the Explorer chartered for a trip diving the Ventura County coastal wreck of the Kopco Star and then its off to Anacapa for 2 outer reef dives on Saturday, February 18, 2012. There isn’t many chances for a line up like this and to top it off this trip is specially priced at $115.00 to sell because CIDA was a bit slow in getting this trip put together.

The plan is to board at 7:00am Saturday morning (or after 7:00pm on Friday) and depart at 8:00am, doing the 1st dive on the Kopco Star, an old kelpcutter, 52’ X 27’ in size that sunk in October of 1963 at a depth of 80’. Afterwards we will move to Anacapa to dive a couple of seldom dove outer reefs. The depths for all the dives will be about 60′-80′ feet deep.

WE had a fun day out on the Explorer on Saturday the 18th. Didn't get to dive the Kopco Star because of 0' vis. (thank you Jonathan for checking it out for everyone)....Pulled anchor and headed to the backside of Anacapa. The current kept us away from the deeper spots we wanted to dive, lots of brittle stars everywhere. It was another day that the weather forecast was wrong. Had a couple of hunters with spearguns, half a dozen people with cameras and the rest where there just to get out diving. Very nice day with 25'-35' ft. of vis. Another great day out with friends!!!

Hope you can come out and join us on the next CIDA adventure aboard the Peace on March 24th to West Santa Cruz!
