thought it might be a friend's hotel you were talking about, Ive just checked but it's not... as far as Ive been told though visibility in the chumphon area is much reduced as compared to the gulf islands despite the short distance between them. I think this is prob because of the large amounts of sediments washed into the sea by the rivers along that stretch of coastline.

Not stayed there or dived there, though have been several times to Thung Wua Laen beach where they are located (my wife is from Chumphon). Very nice and no tourists! Lots of small restaurants further up the beach.
