ATTENTION ALL FUN CHUMMERS: It is time to Claim the COMAL RIVER!

Can you believe that this will be our 10th Annual CHUM Claims the Comal Camping, Scuba Diving and Tubing trip?! Gather up your camping gear and descend into the Comal River with your CHUM buddies, group floats and the CHUM'O'PEDE, dinners and s'mores around the campfire...it's a CHUM tradition and you don't want to miss it!

One of the earliest trips CHUM ever did as a club was a Comal River camping trip back in 2005, and it was a BLAST. This year, because of the Bonaire trip and Easter, we will be diving the Comal in May. Who wants to join us on May 16th, 17th, and 18th? It should be amazing weather for camping, and even better weather for tubing!

For those who may not know, the Comal River is in New Braunfels and is a comfy 72 degrees year round. It's not deep, but does have a light current for some easy drift diving and tube chutes for the adventurous types. Plan on driving up Friday night, camping, waking up Saturday morning for an A.M. dive. After the dive, we can return to camp, dry out a bit, and then rent some tubes for a float down the river. Typically, at night we hang out around the campsite, but you can also head into New Braunfels or nearby Gruene to enjoy the nightlife. Sunday repeat the diving & tubing as desired. Come for all, or just part of the weekend. This is a great weekend trip for the whole family because it is close to Houston, and in my opinion, it's the best and most fun event all year long for our non-divers!

Camping will be at Landa RV Park. Let us know if you want more details so you can join the fun. This trip is open to everyone - Tiger Sharks, Nurse Sharks, etc., and even if you don't want to dive, come anyway and hang out with us.

We have a nice-sized group going, but there's always room more more in the CHUM'O'PEDE! :cool2:

Just two weeks now until one of our favorite annual trips! :cool2: There are still campsites (and hotel rooms) available if anyone wants to join us.

Sooo ready to hit the hill country this weekend. If anybody's up for some diving and/or tubing, come on out and join us!
