I am going to be in Barbados from Dec 17 to 29, 08 will be diving as much as possible. Anyone else be there at that time?

Actually this will be my fifth trip to the island, obviously I like it there. I usually dive with Barbados Blue where the staff make me feel like family and The dive shop with Haroon. I will probably go out with Reefers and wreckers this time as well to dive farther north.

Great. I have been 4 times with my last trip being a month. You probably know your way around then. Take care and have a great trip. If you go to MOJO's bar, say hey to Garvey for me.

Great pics Jeeptrick, we're going in a few weeks. Hope it's as beautiful as the pics look!
The trip was very busy. I guess I was more focused on diving than the fact that it was Christmas, I debated right up to X-mas eve wether or not I was going to dive on the 25th. I tried to compromise and say we could get up at 5:am and open gifts, have breakfast and I could still go for a two tank dive but even the kids where I was staying didn't want to get up that early. I did all my Christmas shopping in about 15 minutes at a gas station everyone got batteries, tylenol and Pepto Bismol. They frowned when they opened it but they were all very happy about it around seven at night. Kidding.
I did get in 17 dives total (not including skills dives) and got my rescue diver certification. Dove on the Stavronikita twice and the wrecks in Carlisle bay I think four times. The rest were drift dives. Saw plenty of turtles, southern rays, lots more eels than usual, (spotted, green and golden morays) not sure if I just know what to look for or what. Two Eagle rays I was thrilled to see and of course about a gazillion fish. I started a reef conservation course so I dove with a fish identification chart. I would recomend everyone do this on their own as all of the dives afterward were so much more interesting knowing what most of the fish were called and trying to identify more each dive. The same with the hard and soft corals, various sponges, crabs, and creatures. I am sorry I was too busy to get hold of ValanceRG as between dives I was invited to lots of celebrations and special dinners. This was the first dive trip that I didn't lose weight on. I dove mostly with Barbados Blue and a few times with The Dive shop, very happy with both shops. I was also very lucky to have great dive buddies everyday. So this was my fifth trip to the Island and won't be my last. I love the people and while it does not have the reputation as a major dive destination I am never at a loss for things to do wet or dry and the reefs appear healthier to me than say St. Thomas, St. Kitts, or St. Marten. So have a great time fishn4life and if you dive with BB say hi to them from Daniel. Go have a drink and listen to the band on a Friday night at The Carib after a huge meal at Oistens and during the week go to The Gap and find the Gap burger stand, best burgers ever. I am not kidding.
Now looking forward to Akumal in the Mayan Riviera with day trip to Cozumal in April.
