I don't have another strobe to compare it to other than a small Epoque I had a year or so ago an it was basically worthless.
This Inon D-180 definetley makes a difference in the lighting. More of the pic area is lighted up and it is a better light. I am happy with it. It will take some time to get used to all the options on it.
