What do you think? Will Wilma take some dive shops out of business? Or maybe it already has. Based on your bookings from last year to this year, is January looking to fall in line with last year. I'm not trying to be nosey but I was wondering what you think the fallout from Wilma may be on the dive shops. kuip

I have heard of no shops closing and honestly don't expect to hear of any. Although things have been extremely tough financially for all of us with the damages and loss of income for two months, we are all a pretty resiliant bunch

I think everyone is expecting and budgeting for a low "high" season naturally since the larger hotels have not yet reopened. I am actually not going to count on anything more than 1/2 the norm through February until the larger hotels reopen and flights resume to normal schedules.

I am not as busy as I was last year or the year before, but at least we have some business now. I am actually completely booked thorugh the 13th and then have space open for the last two weeks of January. February is booking up and March is following. April and on is wide open

Most dive ops came out well....... but at a substantial loss in buildings,gear,boats etc.

What may be closing are a few businesses that are non diving(directly)related.
