THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!

The most important thing to do is get the BC wet with clean water before you get in the pool. If you do this the Bc, or any other thing going into the water, will soak up the clean water instead of the cloriene water.

I am an avid swimmer, and H2O polo player and this helps our suits, hair and skin also.

So ya, this will GREATLY help, and make sure to give it a good rinse afterwords
:D

Are you inferring that once you get something wet that it will no longer absorb any liquid, or that the liquid will NOT exchange while while you are in the water?

No offense, but this doesn't seem logical.

Snipes, I'm sure you mean that if you saturate your wetsuit with tapwater before you jump into the pool, then the diffusion of the chlorinated water into the suit will be delayed.

I doubt that B/C bladders work this way too, however.

Look inside your b/C bladder, or take it apart, and you will see that the bladder is just a clear plastic material. It will not diffuse moisture like a wetsuit would.

In addition, regarding wetsuits, boots, gloves, and hoods, the equilibrium will not permanently prevent saturation by the latter liquid. Like SubM says, eventually your tap water will be flushed out by the pool water. It may just take a bit longer.

That's why your gear does not get stained as quickly, Snipes, if you saturate it in tap water first.
