This is commendable, yet not entirely correct.
The [-]ethnic Taiwanese[/-] indigenous tribes in Taiwan are not Han people they are more closely related to the peoples of the South Pacific. However, the [-]ethnic Taiwanese[/-] indigenous tribes in Taiwan are now only a small part of Taiwan's population. The majority are Han Chinese from the mainland, including the "Taiwanese" or Hoylo[sp?], who came mostly from Fujian Province approx. 400 years ago.
