Has anyone been here? Any features to catch?

Well, I've started diving Chicaugon Lake, in the U.P. This is between Crystal Falls and Iron Mtn. Great lake so far (mid-sixties Fahrenheit to 20' deep). Gets 128 feet in its deepest corner. Maybe tomorrow. In the mean time, I've been content to find the thermocline at 35' (drops to 54'F). Went to 42' deep and said I'd wait for a more interesting corner and a steeper slope. Fish? YES! Some real nice size. I don't know the fishing laws here, though.

If anyone has been to Chicaugon Lake, I'm all ears!

Live well. Laugh often!

Tanks rented in Green Bay (on Velp ave).
Tank fills a mile away at Camp Batawagama and in Iron Mountain.

30' Viz
temp: mid-sixties until 35' deep;
40' Deep = 52'F.

Still looking for the tomb of Hoffa...

yes there is...You see them while diving...I dont know if its worth fishing if thats what you intrested in. Watch diving below 100' because there is a coffee layer in the water colum thats blacks out and it get very disorenting.

Thank you for the Quary tip. i'll hold off until next year.

Lake Chicaugon is fun! Deep (128'), but I've been enjoying scoping out the family fishing spots, and actually seeing the species in each corner. 4' Musky, 20" bass, and perch? I'm reminded of the tropics with the sheets and walls of how many there are (just here, it is a couple hundred, not thousands). I didn't expect to see that here.

Has any local high school sunk any sculptures for underwater parks here?

Went deeper today. Blackwater at 52'. Also, temp change to 48'F.
