Hi gang, coming up to Chicago for a meeting and thinking about driving from hotlanta so I can bring all the stuff and dive Sat. Oct 6th, first time in Lake MI.

Looking for a dive charter to and recommendations for sites to ask about. I would prefer not to go as far north as Milwaukee since I'll be driving back to Atlanta on Sunday.

I've been chatting with Capt Dale, out of Waukegan about diving the Wisconsin but wanted to check to see what else y'all would recommend. I will be diving dry with big singles, cert. AOW and Adv. Nitrox.
Thanks in advance.

I'd go with Dale and would dive the Wisconsin. Great operation and an awesome wreck.

The Wisconsin is a great dive- it's the sister ship to the Milwaukee Car Ferry.

Also try to dive on a wooden boat, maybe the St Mary, Kate Kelly, or the Lumberman. The Lady Elgin can be interesting, but parts of it are a debris field, so you might not understand what you are looking at.

If you go further north, the Willie, the Milwaukee Car Ferry, and the #6 dredge are all fun dives.

Be sure to bring a thick hood, gloves, and decent undergarments. The shallower wrecks will be warmer, but it gets cold below the thermocline.
