hello all,

I am Chesch from North Jersey. I just starter my foray into SCUBA by taking my 1st NAUI class this week. Hopefully by father's day weekend I will have my beginner's certification. Right now, all I have is a mask and snorkel ... but I hope to eventually get a full rig (wetsuit to start)

Any advice for a larger guy when looking for gear?

:happywave: and welcome to :sblogo:

for gear i always suggest custom made for a wetsuit/drysuit and zeagle for a bcd....

im sure you will find lots on offer for you out there

enjoy

g'day and welcome ... :)

The best thing to do about gear is to hire until you can try the different gear and work out what is best for you.

Thank you all for the kind responses to my introductory posting =)

Sadly, I don't think that I will be able to get my AOW or shore diving certification (I am being trained by the guy who literally wrote the NAUI book on shore diving) this season due to being laid off from work =(

oh well ... hopefully I will be able to get it by next season.

-Chesch
