I'm back home in Coz! Had to spend two nights in Houston due to lack of flights to these parts...at least I have family there :)

I am going to need a couple of days to catch up and unpack, etc. and then I will finish my trip report and pictures. I worked on the pictures and report alot during flights and while waiting around in airports...but I have about 700 images to sort through, resize, and all that fun stuff.

The BEST part about coming home was seeing Mago and Pedro (haven't seen Javier yet) and my four furry babies!!!! Of course the two cats are letting me know how mad they are at me...but the two dogs won't leave my side. I also came home to my house being completely decorated with Christmas lights and a Christmas tree...Mago is the absolute BEST...it was a lovely surprise! Usually, decorating the house for Christmas is something I really enjoy...but this year is a little depressing since I can't give even a fraction of what I would like to...and I was considering not even putting a tree up...but coming home to it really brightened my day and got me into the true Christmas spirit!

After Saturday, we have no divers until the 16th...so I plan to spend that time getting my trip report finished and posted...but suffice it to say that it was an absolutely incredible vacation!

Sweet dreams! I can't WAIT to sleep in my own bed!

Glad you enjoyed your trip! We were on the Cuan in June; it was our first liveaboard and definitely set the standard. Large staterooms, easy diving, friendly crew, and great food. Abi the divemaster was great--we kept her busy and got three specialty certifications (night/nav/wreck). Did you enjoy the Rhone? Those dives were some of my favorites, along with the airplane wreck and the Grand Central Station cave. Would love to go back there on the Cuan again. Or maybe someday to Galapagos on the Lammer Law. Looking forward to your trip report!

Too cool, Christi. Your first live-aboard experience? Awaiting details and pix! Great to hear you were rewarded with such a wonderful time. Hope to see you sooner than the year from now that we're currently scheduled.

Cozoholic:
Why is there not much info on the Cuan? trip reports, pictures, diving info etc....
Christi - In short, how's the diving??
Scuba Core DVDs

I'd highly recommend buying the above DVDs for anybody looking for a liveaboard or exotic vacation.

The Cuan Law segment was especially good.

couple of questions about the Cuan Law..

1.) how much can you dive a day? (typical number dives)

2.) Do you dive mostly off the back fo the Cuan Law or chase boats?

3.) Is Nitrox available?

4.) How is stuff for non-divers? what was the ration of divers to non-divers?

couple of questions about the Cuan Law..

1.) how much can you dive a day? (typical number dives)
It's pretty much three dives a day. There were a few opportinities to do a fourth dive each day. The Cuan Law is not a "gorilla dive" livaboard. It's relaxing and slow paced. Three dives a day was plenty actually.

2.) Do you dive mostly off the back fo the Cuan Law or chase boats?
Most dives were from Zodiacs, but never a long ride. There were probably four or five dives from the boat...but this also has alot to do with where they anchor for the night.

3.) Is Nitrox available?
Yes, it was $10 per tank and must be ordered in advance.

4.) How is stuff for non-divers? what was the ration of divers to non-divers?
We had the whole boat chartered and had 11 divers and 7 non-divers. The non-divers really enjoyed the trip as well. They brough a massuese (lousy one) on board one day, they have Hobie cats, ocean kayaks, water skis, snorkeling equipment, etc.

My answers are in bold above :)
