I am looking for a Christmas present for myself. I mostly just free dive around southern California and I never know how deep I've gone to. Last trip to Catalina I looked for a simple depth gage and the only thing anyone had was $500 computers. It would be nice to get a new wristwatch that tells me my max depth.

Features I would like:

-Large face
-If it is analog I would like to see numbers instead of roman numerals or dots
-Glow in the Dark
-Good battery life
-Current Depth
-Max Depth

Features I don't want:

-Heavy
-Thick

Any suggestions?

Not quite all of your specs, but close.

Citizen makes a whole line of dive computer watches also that are very popular as backups.

Thanks for the reply. I thought I searched for this topic, but I just did another search and found a very similar thread.

If capturing your depth is important be sure to check the sampling rate. Depth checks and logging are not always instantaneous.

Freestyle brand. Waterproof to 300' typically about $40. I've been wearing them diving, fire fighting and all the time for 20+ years. Killer customer service, sent one in when the bezle poped off and they sent me a brand new watch.

I wasn't aware Freestyle had any watches that have a depth gauge. Is this new?

I didn't read that part, I was still on "cheap".
