Just was talking to my wife and she informed me that the current estimated track of the eye is between sanibel and charlotte harbor.

Well as of 8 pm today, ole Charley is aimed at Tampa Bay. It is suppose to pick up strenght and become a Cat 3 as it is passing Ft Myers sometime tomorrow afternoon. I think this kinda writes off driving anywhere in central FL Sat.

All I can say is I have beer, rum, hurricane mix, chicken wings, and chips and salsa. Can you say hurricane party at my place Friday :eyebrow:

Paul

I spent today putting up the hurricane shutters. I'm not concerned about the wind, but they're saying that we can expect as much as a 10' surge here. I went out to the dock at 1:30 (when Charlies supposed to go by) and estimated I've got 6' before I get water in the house.

Yeah.. we've had our storm surge upped as a result of the hurricane side-swipe, we've been issued a 12' surge warning, and the weather radar has gone off a number of times with update warnings. Oh well, I live at the edge of the cat 2/3 zone so we'll see how things fare.

Bullah, I hope ya'll come out okay and don't sustain any kind of damage dude.

We are still going to make a run of it up to the springs, see if they are diveable tomorrow morning. The winds and rain should be mostly through by then, just depends on what damage there has been done up there.

Good luck to you on the coast, those surges are what is going to get you. Around here it seems to be labelled as some kind of heavy rainstorm with a bit of wind now its no longer aimed at us and moving more along the west coast and I-75 corridor. See you on the other side!

I hope my dive gear doesn't get wet in this storm HAHAHAHAHA..

You must fight against all known natural forces to keep that stuff dry. I hear that if it gets wet, it might not work properly, cause a fire and has the potential to injure or take a life - be careful around that dive gear - dangerous stuff!

Good luck this afternoon and evening all of you up the western coast out to I-75!
