Welcome to the board bytemark....I think that Charleston Scuba is right in your neighborhood, a friend of mine was certified there...I think that it is right on 17..

There are several excellent dive stores out there, but I don't want to sponser and particular store here on the site, but you can go to www.charlestondiving.com and there is a directory of stores and what certs they teach.
