Changing end of fibre optic cable

I have picked up a cheap second hand D2000 that I want to fix to PT059 case, the connector on the cable is not compatible with the PT059, is it just a case of snipping the cable and then adding the cable to an Inon Rubber Bush Type L and use the adapters that came or with the PT-059 or should I buy a complete new cable?

*update - the cable pulled out, so I think I can just push it into the Inon Cable, well I hope I can

It sounds like a really basic question but if you don't know the answer it is not basic

Yep, just push it in and tighten the two screws, nothing to it.

You can treat it as a copper wire: cut the tip off, if you need, clean off the insulation from the very end, etc.

There is no need to remove the cladding at the end, you just have to make sure that it's cut straight.
