CH-DAY 2023 - COMBO LOGO (ALL THREE- SMALLER STILL).jpg

In 1989, Chamber Day was created as a way of providing more secure funding for our Chamber. And since that time, we've come back to you annually to ask you to support your Chamber. We hope you'll never need it, but if you do, you'll be glad it's there.

A key component of our fund-raising efforts, especially the past few years, has been the Chamber Challenge. We “challenge” you to give a straight donation to our Chamber, and we hope you will then turn around and challenge your friends and dive buddies to match your generosity. And I happy to tell you that we’ve already passed $16,000!!!

A large part of that is due to a fabulous donation from the Antelope Valley Desert Divers. They are longtime supporters of the event and the Challenge, and for the second year in a row, they’ve donated $10,000 to your Chamber. We sincerely appreciate their continued dedication not only to the sport, but to supporting the diving community as well.

We’ve also got a trio of Gold-level donations at $1,000 each. First up is Pacific Wilderness who always likes to lead us off each year with this donation. (Plus they have a table at Chamber Evening.) Next up is one of our steering committee members, Dr. Susy Horowitz, who gives both time and money to making sure Chamber Day is a success. And rounding out the trio is James Collins. We thank you all.

On the Silver level, we start with a donation from Chamber Director Karl Huggins in memory of his mentor at the University of Michigan, Lee Somers. Karl’s donation is a good reminder that you can make your contribution in memory of or in honor of someone and we’re happy to list both their name and yours. Also on the Silver level this year are regular donors Don Lake, Brad Crocker, and Roy Houston.

On top of that, we’ve got a slew of Bronze-level donors as well.

So we’re off to a good start and we’ve got a little over eight weeks to go. Last year was a record-setting year for the Challenge. Can we eclipse it this year? We can if you’re willing to pitch in and help.
