CHAMBER DAY & CHAMBER EVE 2018 - WEDNESDAY, MAY 2 - SAVE THE DATE!!!

Last Sunday, runners all across L.A. went 26.2 miles in the annual L.A. marathon. And it serves as a good reminder that our goal here, and especially with the Chamber Challenge, is a marathon, not a sprint. So while I had hoped we’d had shot a little further ahead, I’m still pleased to share with you that we’ve made it past $12,000.

We are led in this part of the journey by the good folks at Beach Cities Scuba, who once again have pledged $1,000 (Gold level) to the Challenge. On top of that, they host four tables at Chamber Eve and they’ve done both of these things for a number of years now. And they hopefully inspire some other stores, at least in the Challenge area, to match what they are able to do.

Like the L.A. Marathon, our race splits into packs. You’ve got the ‘elites” at the front with their large contributions, and then you’ve got the “back-of-the pack” people coming in with $100 pledges, which is what forms the bulk of what we raises, much like the bulk of the marathoners run in the main pack, not with the elites.

And, also like the marathon, our eye right now is not only the distant finish line, but on the next few steps to get us to our next waypoint. In the marathon, it’s measured in 5K increments and in the Challenge, it’s measured in $5,000 increments. So $15,000 is our next landmark. And we’re not looking for a water station when we get there, but a money station to keep us moving along.

So who will help keep us going? Who’s next up in this wonderful journey? Our direct link to the donation page is Payment > USC Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber > USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences . Who’s next???
