CHAMBER CHALLENGE 2011 - UPDATE #7 - $33,643 (posted 4/11 - last updated 4/4)

A little over three weeks to go and we just passed not only $30K, but also $33K . . .

A big reason we're making such a large dollar jump from last week are because of some large donations. The first is a Platinum Sponsor contribution from the Emmermans: Mike Emmerman, Pat Stockhausen, and son TJ. Mike and Pat are not only longtime friends of Karl Huggins but really recognize the value of a hyperbaric chamber. Mike lectures about disaster preparedness and there's no bigger disaster that we divers need to prepare for than a trip to the Chamber. Mike/Pat/TJ's generosity helps ensure that our Chamber will be there when needed.

We've also got some new Gold Sponsors this week. The Roddenberry Foundation, parent of the Roddenberry Dive Team, has donated $1000. (They also have a table at Chamber Evening.) And the Bozanic Family (Jeff, Rebekah, & children) has also donated $1000 and theirs is in memory of their good friend, Mark Tulin. Finally, we’ve got a Silver Sponsor ($500) in the personage of Valerie Ackerman, and she is also giving in memory of Mark Tulin.

We realize that at times it seems like we’re frequently harping on how much we need your support but that’s because we really do. And in these tight budget times when you hear of federal, state, and local governments looking to save every dime they can, we can’t be complacent in thinking our government sources of funds will always be there. And that’s why it’s so critically important for you to give whatever you can. Although we recommend a minimum $100 donation, all amounts are welcome and will be well-used.

So who’s next??? Who will push us closer to $35,000????
