CHAMBER CHALLENGE 2010 - UPDATE #3 - $10,300 (posted 3/24/10 - last updated 3/11/10)

We made it past $10,000!!! (And it's not even April yet.) And while we appreciate pledges of every amount, our update today illustrates the value of large donations and how they really shoot us closer to our goal.

First we want to thank Scuba.com for again this year committing to being a Gold donor with their $1000. In the same breath, we than the Herndon Family (the owners of Scuba.com) for a second donation of $1000 in the name of their family. These are people who make a living in our industry and are willing to give back to help their customer base and others who might need the services of our Chamber.

Our other thank you this time goes out to longtime diver and Chamber Day supporter Robert Wagner (not the actor, the other guy) who also joins this year's list as a Gold $1000 donor. And even though Robert hasn't been diving locally in a while, he still not only understands the need for our Chamber but is also willing to pitch in to help keep our Chamber financially sound.

And whether you can afford $1000 or $100 or anything in-between, know that your donations to the Chamber Challenge really do help the Chamber weather the uncertain financial waters it must navigate. Even though our Chamber gets significant funding from Los Angeles County, in these perilous economic times, if that were ever to go away, the monies we raise through Chamber Day will help cushion the blow.

So . . . Who’s next? Who will help push us past $11,000?
