CHAMBER CHALLENGE 2010 - UPDATE #2 - $7,300 (posted 3/11/10 - last updated 3/9/10)

As we used to say when I was a Top 40 DJ, "And the hits just keep on coming." We're very pleased in this update to point out three of our local area dive shops that have each come through with $1000 Gold sponsor donations.

We'll lead of with Pacific Wilderness (on behalf of their dive club), who actually sent us an initial e-mail in early February asking us to contact them when we got going. They're also sponsoring a boat (Bottom Scratcher) and have two tables at Chamber Evening.

Next up is Sport Chalet who not only helps us fill the boats, but their longtime employee Clara Galvan is not only on our steering committee, but is also our Boat Chair this year. Sport Chalet also sponsors a boat (Magician) and has two tables at Chamber Evening.

And we've got the boys and girls of Hollywoodivers who are not only again this year joining the Gold donors, but are for the first time sponsoring a boat (Sea Bass). They will also be with us at Chamber Evening with a sponsored table.

Not to be outdone, and to underscore the fact that it’s the individual divers who can make or break the success of this Challenge and the whole event, John Delaney has called in, also with a $1000 Gold donantion.

Now it's one thing to point to enlightened divers and businesses in our community who understand the value of our Chamber and the importance of donating to the Challenge to keep our Chamber financially healthy. But if you look in the middle of the new bronze level donors, you'll note the name "Kommander Kodi". For those of you who dive the Great Escape, you'll know that that's Tim's beloved canine who goes out with us on every trip.

And not to put too fine a spin on this, but if a DOG is smart enough to support the Chamber, how about you????

So . . . Who’s next? Who will help push past $8,000?
