CHAMBER CHALLENGE 2008 UPDATE #1 - $6400 (posted 3/12/08 - last updated 3/12/08)

We hope this will be a big year for Chamber Day and specifically the Chamber Challenge. This is our 20th anniversary of Chamber Day and our 10th anniversary of Chamber Evening and we’d like to make this the most successful event yet. We’ve set lofty goals and we need your help to achieve them.

But we’re off to a rousing start with $6400 in this first update.

One thing we’re doing this year is creating a permanent plaque to commemorate this year’s $1000 and $500 donors. And - in keeping with our 20/10 theme - we’re looking for 20 of the former and 10 of the latter. This plaque will be mounted at the Chamber for all to see. And while we’re starting off nicely, we’ve got a ways to go.

We want to start by saluting our initial $1000 (Gold) donors. They would be Sport Chalet (actually at $1500), DiveVets (also at $1500 and still counting according to Dan Rood - they collect money literally in a bucket/jar every night they dive Vets), and Laurie Kasper & Ken Kurtis (the name sounds familiar . . .)

Our first $500 (Silver) donor is Karl Huggins (another name that sounds familiar . . .) Plus we’ve got a number of Bronze level donors at $100 or more.

But a good start doesn’t do us as much good as sustained momentum and a strong finish. So . . . Who’s next? Who will help push us over $7000?
