I have a question.
Surfing through Scubasource pages I've found a list of certifying organizations. I'm wondering if those are the ones recognized in US, the most famous ones or... ?
I got mine OW certificate from UDI (United Diving Instructors). It's an organization from Austria and their web page is unfortunately in German (www.udi-world.de). I didn't find them in your list so I'm wondering: if I ever do come to US I won't be able to dive? :(

There is no mandatory certification (yet, at least) required in the States, so in theory you don't need any card. In reality, most everywhere you go is going to want to see proof that you've received training.

Expect questions - UDI is not well known here and many dive shops and charters will want to know something about you and the organization before proceeding.

I'd ask UDI for some (English) materials to bring along that might help explain something about their training programs.

For sure bring your log with you.

If you know where you're going to be diving, you might check with the shop/charter in advance.

Never heard of it, but it's affiliated with CMAS you shouldn't have any problems.

As suggested, bring proof of your level, logbook and certainly some info in English can't do any harm.

While I was taking the course I was given all the materials in English so there won't be a problem with that. And of course my logbook goes everywhere with me :)
Thanks again.
