I'm a Fish!
Hello,
I have done my nitrox class with my lDS and now I am nitrox certefied. Now if I want this to count as one of my specialties that I can count towards other certifications than I must do two dives. WHat do I need to do to do those dives with a different dive instructor than the one I did my classwork with. They are from two different shops. The reason is b/c my girlfriend is getting her OW dives done and I was going to do my Nitrox ones with her and her instructor. Any help is appreciated!!

When I did my nitrox we were not certified until we had done two dives. It does not sound like you have yet completed the course, once you have finished, yes it would count towards MSD as one of the 5 dive specialities. The Instructor completing the course is the one that should be signing your pic card, assuming you are a PADI diver.

No...some agencies do not require that any dives be done for something that dose not change the way you dive, but just the way you plan essentially.

I'm having a difficult understanding your sentence structure and syntax.

Question #1: Are you nitrox certified or did you just to a PADI EAN Adventure dive?

Question #2: What particular certifications are you considering that require an EAN certification?

I have seen this with other SSI shops he met the SSI standard just not the shops standard that includes paying for the dives

No I met both the shop and the ssi's standards for getting certefied for nitrox. Now if I want it to be seen as one of my specialities for AOW and what not...I need to go on two dives.

For SSI you need to do 2 EAN dives with a certified SSI instructor. If your Girlfriend is getting certified by SSI then I would think that all you need to do is talk to her instructor, and get him to sign your log book for the dives. There is nothing that he really needs to do other than watch you "plan" your dive and possibly watch you take reading from your tank, I hope this helps.

If you want to use Nitrox as one of your specialties for AOW, you can simply use nitrox on two of your other dives related to AOW.
