Well, for PV advice, you may want to check out the Mexico board. Lots of good stuff there. Honestly, it was my first dive ever, and I was too much into the "this is so awesome" to pay attention to much, but I was a bit disappointed in hindsight. The water was rather murky 30' vis maybe and all we saw we a bunch of rocks on a slope. I heard a storm came through and stirred things up (this was two years ago in mid-Feb), but I didn't see many fish or life. As I said, I only dove there that one day so don't let this discourage you.
In PV, go into town and eat at Pepe's (pronounced Peapea's) About four blocks of the waterfront. Good mexican and cheap prices (10 of us ate for about $120 including tip with drinks). If your by the marina, another good mexican place is by the north end (I thinks its called El Greco or something) Anyways, great food, casual outdoor setting and cheap prices.
As for MR, we're staying at the Adventura Spa Palace. The wives don't dive so their vacation focus is sun, beach, and drinks. I hear there is some decent snokleing in their lagoon, but we'll see. I'd love to hear your recommendations on the area. Also, where did you do your classes in town.
Enjoy you vacation
