I agree. I had posted a thread a while ago about our upcoming trip and had multiple people offer to meet up. We plan on doing most of our diving during the week to avoid the weekend rush. My plan is to do most of our ocean diving first, and then use the spring diving as an extended rinse. My wife wouldn't freak about the diving itself, more so about the cave / cavern part. She doesn't even want to get close to them and I have told her not to. She can wait outside while I do my cavern dive (of course, only if I can find a buddy). I don't even think she would be able to handle the ballroom at Ginnie.

I'm really looking forward to our trip. My goal is to get as much diving in as I can. Hopefully the shuttle launch will be on target so I can concentrate the rest of my time on being in the water.

You may want to look at this link and map before considering that strategy.

Blue Springs State Park

Leaving somebody who has not been in Blue Springs before alone at the 60 foot sign is not advised. And... it breaks all the rules. This spring is unlike Ginnie as it is basically straight down. Swimming down and staying down in the strong flow requires extra lead. You know Ginnie is basically horizontal.

There is more to read on the Florida State Parks website. Our Spring is a little wonder of the world, right down the road from my house.

Have fun there.

Great point. I'm all about safety (I'm a paramedic for a living) I guess we will see how it plays out. She might not like the springs anyway. She enjoys watching the fish and if I remember correctly, there isn't too much variety at the springs.

I will be bringing 3 tanks down with me. One of them will be one time use as I understand that nobody in Florida will fill it (pre 94 luxfor?). I hope to be good with tanks, and everything else, we own.

Pre May 1986 manufacture... Which used the old (bad) alloy 6351T6 Alum. New tanks are made from 6061T6 Alum

Well, we ended up diving Alexander, and Paradise. Paradise was awesome, and I actually got some really good pics on that dive. Thanks for all the advice! Without scubaboard, I don't think I would have chosen the caves I did..... Thumbs up!
