Just hit my 100th dive in Playa del Carmen in DOS OJOS Cenote! It was awesome, Luis at Playa Scuba was AWESOME!! 1st time in a cave and wasn't sure how it would go? If you are in Playa go see Luis at Playa Scuba Dive Center he was a professional and I felt very safe diving with him, plus his prices are better than the other centers we checked out! Just wanted to share this info with anyone considering an inexpensive getaway this is the place to go!!

Welcome to Scubaboard! I did that dive last year and loved it.

Nice to hear you had a good time diving the cenotes down here. If you come another you may visit some cenotes with other characteristic, such halocline, hydrogen sulfide layers, daylight effects, tons of fossils, etc.
Cheers.

Did you see the little fresh water turtles in the cenotes? Ponderosa has eels, too.

In cenotes like Chac Mool, Ponderosa, Chikin Ha, Tajma Ha, and Angelita we often find those beautiful fresh water turtles. And the eels in Ponderos are amazing.

We saw two darling turtles in the open water at Dos Palmas a couple of weeks ago. One was good sized, but the other was a little one. We also saw some fish in the cenote that neither of us had ever seen before -- large ones, with dark vertical bars. The caves are the main attraction, but the ponds have a lot of things to look at in them, too!
