Is there a site where you can book directly with the celebes explorer? when i google it it brings up all the agents which are obviously going to take there own fee as well. Can i book dirctly with them?

Big fish63. You pay the same amount whichever way you book. The operators LIKE using agents because it means they don't have to pay additional office staff to handle all the work that we agents do. The operators only pay the us for the work we actually do, whereas if they had to employ office staff for that, they would have to guarantee full employment, pay social security benefits, medical insurance, etc. Just go ahead and book through an agent. It won't cost you a penny more.

I am just asking from something I experienced. Dive the world gave me a price to stay at sea ventures I then contacted sea entires directly and it was much cheaper?!

Can you advise me with someone to book it through (pm me if you like)? Is it possible to book direct with them?

That should be true.

I'm not too sure about that though. I think it is more that operators are happy to pay commissions to agents who help fill the boat. In the scale from "useful outsourced marketing and logistics department" to "necessary evil", agents may be closer to the former but they are not as close to the end of the scale as you appear to be painting. You're all still appreciated though. :D

Maybe it depends on the agent. Some of us may be "easier" to work with and more "helpful" in easing the strain on office resources than others. I know that Max and I have a great working relationship, if that tells you anything. ;)
