Hi all,
I'm based in Dublin and have been diving for 14 years. Doing my divemaster now that I consider myself modestly experienced and am loving the forums here. Lets hear it for cold water diving! Not to mention the vis at an epic 18 inches!

A big Irish hello to you all!

18 Inches vis? That's excellent!

Do tell more...

BTW, Welcome (Scub)aBoard! :happywave:

Welcome to ScubaBoard! I'm always glad to see there are Irish divers here, because someday, I'm going to go visit the country where my roots are (with a last name like Flaherty, it's pretty clear where that is) and I'd love to be able to go diving while I'm there!

(Cold water and limited viz would feel just like home to this Seattle diver . . .)

Well, do let me know when you're going. I just might take the ferry across then... :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm getting that warm fuzzy feeling - too much guinness!
Seriously, anyone heading this way please look me up. The diving on the east coast is russian roulette - the odd one will blow your mind! The west coast is just surreal - a real thing of beauty - 30 m vis not unusual with big dramatic walls and gullies. No prizes for guessing which way my compass points come the weekends.

FYI...you are never far from a Flaherty's pub in Ireland! TSandM, your rellies are responsible for some of my epic hangovers!

Hey from NC and welcome to the board. Have made a couple of road trips in Ireland...love it.

Hey I'm new on here too and got excited to see a bit of the old gaelic on my first visit (even if it is slightly different!)

I'm from the highlands of Scotland and and also a lover of cold water dives and limited vis... and also about to start on my DM course, but 14 years ago I was still a small child so definitely not as experienced!

Studying marine biology so looking forward to learning lots on here... do you think I can reference 'scubaboard' in my assignments...?!
