Hesham Gabr: president
...

This committee will be running for 2 months or until going for new board election, whichever is nearer.
Thanks for the info!
I think someone in Alexandria will be really, really disappointed and upset now, flooding the forum with the same posting over and over again.

So I take it, nothing has changed for the moment?

Here's an email reply to my inquiry:

Yes, we confirm that the boards of all 5 tourism chambers and the ETF have
been dissolved . The Minister of Tourism will appoint a temporary board by
decree. Details of who these board members will be are expected to be
announced in a day or two. CDWS continues to function as usual through its
branches in the Red Sea and South Sinai

We'll keep you all informed

Chamber of Diving and Water sports - Red Sea - Egypt

Now I have some serious problem with Hisham Gabr being the president of the chamber of diving sport. There is and has always been a clear conflict of interest. I don't know the rest of the name but if any of them owns any interest in dive related activity then he/they are in conflict.

Everything has changed since January 25. It is now everyone's responsibility to stand together and assert their rights. That specifically is directed at Egyptian dive professional.
I will contact my lawyer first thing in the morning to dig into this and draft a complaint/petition to submit to the minister and prime minister.

The first 4 names in the list I posted before have their dive-related businesses, 3 directly and 1 indirectly. I'm not sure about the fifth name.

I'm not attacking CDWS. I'm not a fan of CDWS, but not an enemy either.

Anyway, here's some news. The "new" chamber of tourism board member names have been announced. It includes Hesham Gabr. For diving, there will be a special committee with:

Hesham Gabr: president
Zeyad El Bassel: vice president
Omar Adly: treasurer
Hamed Abdalla: member
Zohair Khaireldeen: member

This committee will be running for 2 months or until going for new board election, whichever is nearer.

Where can I find confirmation of the information you posted?
