I didn't think you could get out to the Hepp's sites unless staying at Coconut Bay - or Hepp's Condos. I suppose if you rent tanks from Stingray Watersports you can also.

For one of them - likely Hepp's Condo's - I read they remove the ladder when it's not being used and store it nearby.

No, you can dive there even if you aren't staying at the condos, but I believe that you do have to rent tanks from Stingray - that's the most convenient option anyway - we've only dived there a few times but we rented tanks from Stingray (or from a guy there that I think was with Stingray) without any problems.

Parking can be tricky but you can take the path alongside the condos that leads to the shore dive. It's around $15 for a tank and weights and they have outdoor showers and a rinse tank for the use of shore divers.

That ladder looked permanent to me, I don't think that they could move it easily.

@EastEndDiver recently did some shore dives at Hepp's and I am sure that he wasn't staying at Coconut Bay because he owns property on the island; perhaps he can tell us more about the parking, tank rental, and facilities. And the diving!

Wrong !

As Kathy said you can rent tanks there Duncan is very nice laid back and easy to deal with he lives in one of the condos his phone number and condo unit is posted where the tanks are.... as for parking I pulled up to the tanks called Duncan he said take the tanks park right there and pay him when I see him...….I do not stay at Coconut Condos I own on Island....the ladder was always in place....they also have fresh water rinse showers right where the tanks are kept plus a pile of weights for those who need......I think I did three days of diving there on the last trip......I don't want to post Duncan's number on here but if anyone wants it PM me.

Kathy as to Cobalt they did some nice upgrades and it is a very nice shore dive the only drawback is twofold.....it is a long walk to the water and a long swim to the mini wall also it is very weather dependent have gotten blown out of there many times BUT it seems to be the cheapest tank rental I think it was $8.00 it is worth doing if the weather cooperates

The ladder is permanent and not taken out at the end of the day. My understanding as others have said the site is open to the public. I think you can dive with your own tanks but why not use Duncan/Stingray Watersports as they have tanks there plus a shower, rinse tanks and set up benches. Well worth the price of a tank.

I found this picture online of the ladder at Coconut Bay; it looks like you would need a jackhammer to move it!

I'm not talking about the COCONUT BAY LADDER!!!!

READ MY POST AGAIN IF YOU FAIL TO UNDERSTAND THIS...

OK - So where are the “Hepp’s Condos” that you referred to in your post? I only see Coconut Bay Condos in the area by Hepp’s Pipeline?

We were talking about shore diving Hepp's Reef from Coconut Bay Condos, no one seems to know what you are referring to; where is Hepp's Condos and do they shore dive there?

AND THERE IS NO REASON TO SHOUT!!!!

It won't help others to understand your meaning, please explain.

Diversteve I assumed you were referring to CBC as well and that your reference to Hepps Condo was a mistake as I have not heard of Hepps Condo. The only condo remotely in the area I have heard people mentioning removing the ladder was Bonnie's Arches but that is way down the road and no access to Hepps. Perphaps you can clarify as rereading your post doesn't help me understand what you were referring to.
