Not fair, you've already got a direct flight to cozumel. We can fly direct from se florida to grand cayman but
I was really surprised to see no direct cozumel flights from either fort lauderdale or miami airports.

It's about time! I've been cking flights from Dallas to Cayman Brac, it's 3 stops and takes a MINIMUM of 12 hrs !!! (Dallas to Cozumel...same distance.... is less than 2 1/2 hrs, non stop!) My dive shop is going to Brac early July, and I said 'no' to the trip due to the flight situation. Problem is, it's likely too late for these flights to help Cayman this year as I suspect most people planning to go to the Caymans this summer have already booked flights via the 'long route'. They probably shoulda announced this early 2012.

I think Cayman Air stopped flying to Houston at least a year ago. I don't think they wanted to compete directly against the Continental non-stop to GC.

Yeah, I was pretty bummed out when they stopped. When both Continental and Cayman were flying non-stop, it was pretty easy to get a fare in the $300RT range. I think Cayman changed their model to focus on flying to airports that were major hubs that didn't have direct flights to GC on another airline. Now that United is the only non-stop from Houston, fares are generally close to $700. I could fly to GC alot cheaper if I bought a ticket from somewhere else in the country and let somebody else fly the leg to Houston for me. But I guess that is illegal or something so I will just have to keep praying that Houston city council has the good sense to let Southwest build their international terminal.
