My wife and I just returned from a trip on the Cayman Aggressor. This was our 6th liveaboard.

The boat was in great condition. The food was hot, well prepared and presented very well.

The diving was terrific on Little Cayman but Grand Cayman leaves a lot to be desired. We spend 2 days on Little Cayman due to poor weather conditions for the trip home. They normally stay 3 days. We did one dive on the Russian Destroyer on Cayman Brac and it was okay. The guests all voted to return to Little Cayman however and did not feel a second dive on the wreck was worth while.

We did the usual Stingray dive and it was fun. It's not something you'd want to do very often but it was a good experience.

I only have two complaints about the trip. We booked a little late and had to share a bath with another cabin. It turned out to be a single young lady and was not a real problem. However, the bath remained dirty during the entire trip. Water came up from the shower drain and messed up the floor all the time. We were standing on wet floors all the time and they were dirty.

The second complaint is for the unbelievable trip home. We flew US AIRWAYS and they had 3 flights within about 3 hours leaving Cayman. They only had 4 agents serving all the customers. The lines were so long the blocked all the other ticket counters in the entire airport. We waited in line for just a little over 2 hours. American only had one flight while we were there and they had 7 agents and no lines. Only US AIR had the problem.

All in all, I highly recommend the Cayman Aggressor. The crew was fantastic and the entire experience was excellent.

Hi ncchuck, we are thinking about doing Cayman Aggressor in October. Nice to see your good review. Have you done any other Aggressor boats? You also mentioned the diving off Grand Cayman was just average. Can you elaborate a little? Would you do the Cayman Aggressor again?

I will be diving off the Cayman Agressor July 5 -12th. Glad to hear good things.
We have 10 people from our local dive shop making the trip.

My wife and I have done liveaboards in Cayman, Indonesia (the best), Belize, Bay Islands, and Turks and Caicos. We been on the Aggressor and Peter Hughes boats. Both are great and we've never had a bad experience. That's not to say they are always perfect but we've always had a great time and overcome in minor issues.

I have been diving for 18 years and have been diving in Michigan, Indiana, Missouri, Canada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Belize, Fiji, Roatan, Utila, Bahamas, Moorea, and Cozumel. I became an instructor at age 61 and attendted dive school in Utila with dozens of 18 to 24 year olds. I then managed a dive operation on Roatan and later in Chuuk (Truk Lagoon).

I indicated that diving near Grand Cayman wasn't that great. It wasn't bad but it wasn't nearly as good as Little Cayman. The fish life isn't as good and the coral isn't as vibrant. We did stingray dive of course and it was fun but I'm not a fan of feedings of any kind. I wouldn't do it again.

We did have a lot of wind on our Cayman Aggressor trip and that probably contributed to the choice of some of the dive sites. It also limited our time on Little Cayman. We went all the way to Cayman Brac and only did one dive on the wreck there. The guests voted to go back to Little Cayman.

If anyone reading this thing ever gets a chance to dive in Indonesia, do it. The diving there is just superior. We did the Komodo Dancer and then a smaller boat our of Raja Ampat. Both were excellent. We also did some diving in Sulawesi. You see new and unusual creatures and every dive. In some places the coral was indescribable. It was lush and thick and overwhelmed the senses.

Thanks for the info! You said you've done liveaboards in Belize. Belize Aggressor III is also on our short list. Have you done this boat? Sorry for all the questions, but you seem like a good resource.

I will definitely add Indonesia to our wish list!

I've done just about all of the Aggressors and the drainage issue in the shower stalls on the Cayman Aggressor has been around a long time. It's obviously a design flaw that they can't fix or it would have been done a while ago. Still love each and every boat and wouldn't dive any other way. Never had a bad experience!

Just got back about a month ago for the Aggressor III Belize liveaboard. The boat and crew were outstanding. The food was excellently prepared by some of the best cooks I've experienced. The diving varied and was good overall. Only one compliant was we dove some the same sites twice and should have moved to others sites more often. The crew was outstanding and accommodating in every way. Belize city is at best a third world city and quite dirty. You don't want to go out alone around town. Once on the boat...ALL is well. I would go with these guys again and are planning a Grand Caymen Aggressor IV or Turks trip around May of next year.

Just got in last night from a week on the Cayman Aggressor. The boat was clean top to bottom. The crew was friendly, professional and asked repeatedly what they could do to make our trip more enjoyable.

The food was excellent and I was really surprised that my suit pants still fit after eating all that great food. The cooler on the top deck was always stocked and there was barely an empty plate before someone was taking it away.

I was the dive leader from our shop and we had eight divers. Five were quite new with four having never dove in salt water. I had three new divers while one of the crew and or the captain had the others.

Very safety conscious noting times and depth and keeping good records. We were able to do 25 dives. We had to pull the plug on a couple of night dives due to the strong winds we were having out of the northeast and relocate.

I had no problems with the drainage in the shower and the air conditioner put out lots of cold air. The dive sites were excellent and the captain even moved when we requested another spot for an afternoon and night dive.

An excellent trip and a very professional operation with no surprises.
