Causes and prevention of scratches on computers and other equipment

I've seen people that covers the PDC with a piece of transparent PVC, those used for industrial curtains.
While this could be used for PDC, it's unusable for a compass, as this avoids the use of the besel. With a PDC, you can also have restrictions to use the control buttons.
Besides this, scratches in the camera housing, PDC or compass are invisible underwater, as the scratch fills in with water and disappears.
But, as mentioned before, the best way to avoid scratches is to leave those items at home, even better inside the original box. That's not the reason you bought then.
