Johnnyseko, John L., Navy21 and I met up at BK at 7:30 on this spring like day to get dives in. With light winds, calm seas, gear just serviced, had to play hookie from work this AM to sneak a couple dives in. We dove Cathedral Rocks as the conditions were ideal. High tide was at 10:18 AM so perfect to get a couple dives in just before high tide, during slack.

Some stats..

Air temp when got there 39 and when left 50 degrees.
SW Winds less than 10 knots.

Dive 1: Water temp 43 to 41, Depth 71 (John L) Vis I say was better than average. 20 to 25 feet?

Dive 2: Maxed out at 67 degrees.
Only saw 1 bug on each dive. (both barely legal..), Lots of those cool redish Sea anemones but man I love swiming through those impressive canyons, rock formations.

Headed North towards "the moon" and banged right to canyons. Of course, screwed the pooch on navigation and ended up both times away from entry point but not too far off course.

Only hassle was didn't zip my DUI drysuit all way so got quite a shock when jumped off giant stride. Zipped right up so just ended up having wet undies for dives.
Funny to watch the 3 wet suit divers pouring hot water in gloves, booties, down suits before 2nd dive.

Was good to get out of my system. (for next few weeks)

Awesome dives today!!! So glad my arm got twisted into going. That site is like no other. Perfect weather too!

Side note....(hijack)....can anyone comment on Normans Woe? Checked it out post-dive and looks like a good dive, entry/exit could be a bit more challenging than cathedral from what I could see.

yes, a good site to dive when winds are pounding folly side and winds from north west. There is info on site on cape Ann divers website. The key is to dive at high tide and slack. When you drove by, was after slack
so would look hairy. The best part is entry. You do a giant stride off the ledge. It is a long walk but not steep like cat rocks. I have found scallops there before.just after reach sand. Not much. Favorite site on south east side.
