Earlier in the summer I posted here about putting together a Catalina trip (been so long the thread has dropped). Well, I finally booked a trip if anyone is interested.

We plan to leave Phoenix early Sunday morning, August 17th to get to Long Beach in time to catch the 2:00 p.m. ferry. We will stay two nights. We hope to get in at least one afternoon dive and a night dive at Casino Point on Sunday. Monday we have a three tank boat dive scheduled on the King Neptune. Monday afternoon/evening is available for additional dives (Casino Point) if we are not too beat. We plan to get in a couple more morning shore dives on Tuesday before we head back to Long Beach at 2:00 p.m. and back to Phoenix later that night. I am somewhat flexible (stay an extra day, leave earlier/later etc.) but this is what I currently have reserved on the schedule.

Because we are going to be there on weekdays we got a pretty good rate. Basically, the package includes: Round trip ferry service on the Catalina Express, 2 nights hotel, one day of boat diving on the Neptune, two days of weights and unlimited airfills at the dive park (must bring your own tank or can rent one there), and baggage handling to and from the dock to hotel. The hotel will also hold baggage before/after check-in & check-out if you want to extend your days when coming or going. The cost is right around $300.00 per person based on double occupancy.

The price does not include: obviously fuel getting over there, parking at the ferry port, food (I am pretty certain breakfast and lunch are provided during the boat dive), and other misc. expenses (tips for the boat trip, etc.).

If anyone is interested in going over and sharing travel expenses send me a PM and I can give you additional details. Should be a good time.

Be aware, that if you take your own tank and it has a nitrox sticker, the park will not fill it without you removing the sticker.
