OP here... I was told that I got a 15% discount because we are doing a lot of dives, but since I got a discount they want cash. They offered an alternative, they said I could send a check to their US office, but it has to be done well in advance of the trip because the US office doesn't check the PO box very often.

Thanks to all for the info. Hopefully everything will go smoothly on our first trip to Cozumel!

... Not to mention...something like 10-40% of the "cash" outside the US, is said to be counterfeit cash. The dive shop gets paid in that...and when it hits the banks, that income is taken away and not reimbursed.

I don't understand what you are saying here. if you are bringing cash from the U.S., it shouldn't be counterfeit, or are you talking about getting cash from an ATM in Mexico and using it to pay?

Dive with Martin is the only dive op we've used that was cash only, and that was several years ago, not sure if they still operate that way or not.

My op will take paypal. Send it as a friend not a service or business and there is no fee. I pay for all but 2 days by paypal so if bad weather stops diving he won't have to return $. Then just pay cash for balance and tips. Cuts down on carry cash and paypal always has bank exchange rates.
