Can someone give me more information regarding the cash allowance program for trading in older gear for new Oceanic gear? I have an older Oceanic first stage, Delta 2nd, a vest style BC, and a 3 gauge console. These items are still in good condition & in working order and were made circa 1992.

On that webpage, it states....

"Trade in a single product or any combination regulator, octopus, BC, and instrument described in the blue headings below, and receive an Instant Cash Allowance on brand-new Oceanic products. Upgrades are Factory Authorized and qualify for all Oceanic warranty and service programs."

But when I go to the page, I don't see the items "in blue headings below." And E cannot see the product upgrade chart anywhere on that page

Like other readers, and fellow divers I've talked to, none of them have seen this supposed "chart" listing the various cash allowances. I recently turned my Dataplus 2 computer in for a veo 180. I was told by the Oceanic Rep, that the veo 180 is discontinued and the upgrade is only good for the veo 100. I ended up trading my dp 2 and only getting 15% off.

Here's an email I sent to Oceanic....I'll keep this thread informed once I get a response.

I was at Diver Dan's in Santa Clara, CA last weekend, looking to upgrade my DataPlus 2to a veo 180 and was told by the onsite Oceanic Rep that Oceanic has discontinued the Veo 180 and I could only trade in my computer to a veo 100. If Oceanic has discontinued the veo 180, then why do you still advertise and promote this computer on your web site? What is the scoop on the trade up? What are the allowances for your product lines?

I am a long time Oceanic customer and dive master who would like to contine recommending your products. Please respond. This is of concern to me.

I can help you out with an aeris trade in. Your gear will qualify. Send me a PM if I can help.

I don't recall the exact amount, but I think I got somewhere around $100-125 when I traded an Alpha 7 for a Delta IV.

The chart referred to on our web site is a carry-over from a previous upgrade program. I will see to it that it is removed.

To clarify the current Instant Cash Allowance program -

Trade in any life-support product (Regulator, Octo, BC, Gauge and/or Dive Computer) and receive 20% off a new product from the same category. Dealer participation is optional, and may vary.

20% off what?

List price, current advertised price, MAP price?

The reason I ask is that it's 20% off MSRP, you can typically find a dealer that will sell it at 20-30% off already, or at least at MAP.
